About Me

I’m a writer, editor, and publisher with a decade and a half of experience working in multiple parts of the publishing industry.

After earning my bachelor’s degree in English literature with a focus on creative writing from Fordham University, where I sat on the student literary magazine’s board and earned the college's highest award for poetry, I moved on to writing criticism, op-eds, short fiction, poetry, and journalism—earning publications in each genre. Next, I began my own online magazine, where I learned the ropes of overseeing a group of writers, helping them develop ideas and articles while editing everything. During that time, I picked up a certificate in publishing from the City College of New York, where I learned from professionals from New York’s most prestigious publishing houses. I next went to work for Penguin (later Penguin Random House), where I was an assistant production editor for a romance imprint.

Then, I left mainstream trade publishing to become a freelance journalist (bylines can be viewed here) and editorial professional (most editing credits listed here), all while writing my award-winning memoir, which was published in 2017 by The Overlook Press in New York. Now, I am the co-founder and editor in chief of Oneshi Press, an independent publisher of graphic novels, comics, and illustrated books in Missoula, Montana, as well as the author of a graphic novel and comic book series.

My comprehensive experience across a wide range of writing, editing, and publishing arenas gives me a unique insight into the writer’s experience, all the way from inspiration to publication. Let's find out if my insights and experience are a good fit with your ideas and plans!
