Porn addiction is not the problem. You are.

READ THIS. It’s about porn addiction. And how it’s not a thing.

Oh. YEAH. Thank you thank you thank you, science, for saying this shit! Now granted, this was written by the same guy who wrote The Myth of Sex Addiction, a book which makes a lot of good points but gets quite mired down in perpetuating a lot of divisive thinking about male vs. female sexuality. And so does this article. But it’s so gratifying to read this:

Porn is not addictive. Sex is not addictive….[W]hen people buy into the belief that porn is addictive, it changes the argument, and all of a sudden, it seems like it is porn and sex that are the problems. Porn addiction becomes a label, and seems to be an explanation, when in fact, it is just meaningless words and platitudes that distract from the real issue. But sex and porn aren’t the problems. You are.”

loved the article, shared it with a friend dancing the steps of an ugly divorce with someone hiding behind the claim of this addiction. and what an intriguing mention of proof that females have more physical response to sexual images than males. and that sex crimes decrease as access to smut increases.
