It’s that time again, folks! Time for another live-reading video from my memoir, Watching Porn: And Other Confessions of an Adult Entertainment Journalist! Posted below, you’ll find embedded video of little old me reading “Chapter 13: Editor in Chief” from the live-streamed reading on March 17. Chapter 13 is all about my adventures as the big cheese at WHACK! Magazine, where I started exploring new kinds of smut for review. After experimenting with feature films and porn parodies, I finally worked my way around to queer, feminist porn. And it BLEW. MY. MIND! (Hint: It was The Crash Pad.)

Join Me for Chapter 14
I’ll be hitting the interwebz again this Sunday, March 31, with a live reading of Chapter 14: Racism in the industry. This chapter will be a deep dive into the ways that race is handled in mainstream porn—for better and for worse. As you might imagine, given that the porn industry I’m most familiar with is American, and America has very big issues around race…there’s a lot of bullshit that goes on in porn around racial justice, representation, and ethical pay practices. So buckle up…we’re going to dig into it.
The reading will start at 1:00 pm MST (that’s 3:00 pm EST and noon PST) this Sunday, March 31, on my Facebook page! Drop by for the reading, chat with me during the Q&A, and enjoy an afternoon of learning about everybody’s favorite entertainment industry.
