Chapter 2: Getting In
Are you freaking PSYCHED for the next live reading from my book, Watching Porn?! I freaking am! It’s been a goddamn hellish week in America, and this weekend offers a blessed respite from the shit-show that the 24-hour news cycle has become. Let’s all grab a cup of tea and sit around for about an hour, listening to a live reading, participating in a Q&A, and taking our minds off of things, shall we? We deserve it. We’ve been through a lot together.
This Sunday, I’ll be reading selections from “Chapter 2: Getting In.” In it, I describe the interview process I went through at the first porno mag I ever worked for, the editor in chief who became a dear friend over many years covering the smut business, and the state of the porn industry in 2007, when all of this was happening. I may even go into detail about a funny story that occurred on my way to the interview, which was cut from the book, if you ask me really nicely during the Q&A!
Bonus: I’m battling a very bad cold, so during this live reading I’ll probably be snotty, red-nosed, and hoarse! I like to think that the spectacle of it will bring some variety to this ongoing reading series. Double-plus bonus: You might get to hear what I sound like when I sneeze! Exciiiiting!
So tune in this Sunday, September 30, at 3:00 p.m. Eastern (that’s 2:00 Central, 1:00 Mountain, 12:00 noon Pacific) on YouTube Live or Facebook Live! Hear selections from “Getting In,” join the live chat, ask your questions during the Q&A, and watch me read and/or blow my nose a whole lot!
