I wrote a lil’ piece in Luna Luna Magazine about this whole “Chase Bank being a jerk to porn stars and closing their accounts” issue. I’ve been on to Chase’s feelings about porn for a while now (as you’ll see in my upcoming article for Bitch), but this one really has me pissed off.
“It hardly bears mentioning that the puritanical trickle-down effect has its claws deeply pressed into the squishy stomachs of most Americans, but when an instance as blatant as this shows up, it seems silly not to pounce on it: where people make their money—legally—and whether it involves showing off their private parts should be of no interest to the people at the top. And when those at the top feel free to discriminate against those who take their clothes off in a public way, then everyone further down the ladder takes yet another cue about whether it’s ok to judge them for it.”
