Hello, internet! The past week has been a blur, and I got so busy I almost forgot to post my new video for you! But never fear. I made it happen.
Video of Chapter 20: P0rn, Art, and Obscenity
Back on July 7, I read Chapter 20 from my book, Watching P0rn. This was a loooong chapter, in which I continued the memoir part of the book by telling stories about my experiences collecting interviews with several dozen individuals about their individual experiences with pornography. It was a fascinating and illuminating…and exhausting…experience.
The chapter then goes on to describe my obsession, correspondence, and eventual interview with Max Hardcore, the monster lurking in the adult industry’s closet. Or, actually, in a federal penitentiary after being convicted of distributing obscene materials. And, of course, in order to talk about obscenity, I also had to go on a deep dive about obscenity law in the United States.

A Postponement!
I had originally planned to read the very last chapter of the book this coming Sunday. But it turns out I’ll be in Bozeman that day on a short camping trip! So instead, I’m postponing the reading. That means that this whole book-reading experience will be wrapped up on Sunday, July 28. Don’t miss it! I’ll read the last chapter, which will tell you about two of the most amazing nights of my life, when much of my work as an adult industry journalist culminated in an art show and, later, an award.
